Kia, the conquest of America

The deal will strengthen its Asian manufacturer 'premium' in the U.S. market with the Cadenza sedan.


 In recent years, as manufacturers have increased their offer Kia models characterized by a quantum leap in the quality of its components, as well as increasingly positioning premium. In the latter case, the South Korean firm offers since 2009 the K7, a sedan designed by a team led by the renowned Peter Schreyer, who previously had worked for Audi.

Now, during the Detroit Auto Show (NAIAS 2013), Kia unveiled the American version of K7 well-known in South Korea, Cadenza renamed and revised suitably to meet the tastes of users from across the Atlantic. With a length of almost five meters, the Asian model will land in the U.S. market in order to compete with rivals like the Acura RL and the Toyota Avalon.

The Kia Cadenza uses the same platform as its cousin, the Hyundai Azera, and offer mechanical GDi petrol engine provides high performance. Initially, it is anticipated that this sedan premium is placed on the European market, where the brand has the representation model Optima.
